BISFed 2017 – World Open | Seville – 4 Medals!
The National Boccia Team is returning from Seville, and will be arriving in Portugal today.
They have managed to win 4 medals, both in individual and colective competition.
The BC3 Team, featuring Avelino Andrade, José Carlos Macedo e Luís Silva, won a gold medal, by defeating, in the final, the English Team (Patrick Wilson, Jamie and Scott McCowan), in a tight game.
On another note the BC4 Team, composed by Carla Oliveira, Manuel Cruz e Pedro Clara, managed to win a bronze medal, against Great Britain (Evie Edwards and Stephen McGuire), with a strong result (7-1).
In the individual competition, Portugal stood strong, once more, achieving no less than 2 silver medals in the BC1 and BC3 classes.
- João Pinto, the youngest athlete on the team, won a silver medal in the BC1 class, against the world number one, David Smith (Great Britain).
- José Carlos Macedo rose to the challenge, once again, by winning a silver medal, in a difficult game against Grigorios Polychronidis (Greece), the world number two.
